Meet Our Team
Curtis Houk, Associate Partner, Certified Field Trainer
I proudly serve clients across AL, AR, AZ, FL, IN, KS, MD, MI, NJ, NY, OH, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, VA, and WV as a licensed financial advisor at Houk Financial - in accordance with JMiller Financial Services, Builders Integrity Group, and The Broker Group. I am currently working to expand beyond these states to broaden my ability to educate and serve more people as a financial professional.
Military Service
For 23 years, Curtis served our country in the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Army. During this time, he dedicated himself to training and mentoring young soldiers to prepare them to defend themselves and accomplish their missions.
Life After the Military
After his final deployment to Iraq in 2008–2009, Curtis pursued higher education, earning both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in elementary education. He went on to teach 5th grade at Nittany Christian School and later taught 5th and 6th grade at Saint Monica Catholic School.
His passion for education and service continues today in the financial world. Just as he previously equipped soldiers and students with the tools they needed to succeed, Curtis now empowers individuals and families with financial strategies to help them build, protect, and grow their future. As a financial professional, his mission is simple: to educate and serve all who need our help so they can achieve financial confidence and long-term security.

Wendy J. Miller, Senior Associate, Certified Field Trainer
Wendy J. Miller is a licensed financial professional in AR, IN, MD, MI, OH, PA, SC, TN, TX, VA, WV additional states and plans to be licensed nationwide. She finds true fulfillment in educating people on strategies that help them achieve financial peace of mind.
Work Experience
Wendy began her financial career in 2014 at a nationwide bank, where she loved building rapport and trust with clients. After eight years, the branch closed. This led her to obtain her life and health insurance license in Texas. Working alongside Strong Capital Enterprises in Washington and Builders Integrity Group in Texas, Wendy is proud to put mission before commission.
Personal Life
Wendy loves escaping the Texas humidity, cheering on her bonus kids in all their activities, and spending time with her 9-year-old Labrador mix, Chipp (“Gator Bait”). She is a military brat who settled down in the town where she graduated. Additionally, Wendy is a loyal Dallas Cowboys fan through thick and thin.

Shania Pringle, Associate Partner
Shania Pringle is a financial professional at J. Miller Financial Services. She is proudly licensed in South Carolina and can expand to serve clients across all 50 states. This career has been one of the most rewarding chapters of her life, second only to raising her four amazing children: three boys (21, 13, and 2) and her 5-year-old daughter. Her oldest is currently in his third year of college and training as an officer with the Army National Guard, setting an inspiring example for his siblings.

Shania began as a stay-at-home mom looking for ways to contribute financially to her family. Along the way, she discovered strategies that not only strengthened her own household but also had the power to transform lives. Proudly from Wynne, AR, Samuel "Sam" Lawhon is a licensed financial professional in Arkansas and Texas. He currently works as a police officer while pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Arkansas State University. Previously, Sam earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a Minor in Management from Arkansas State.
Passion

Heather Baumgardner, training associate
I am Heather Baumgardner and I serve clients in: Indiana, Ohio, Kansas, and Alabama. In October of 2025, my boyfriend and I moved from southern Alabama and moved to east Kansas (close to Kansas City, MO). When it comes to life insurance, I plan to help families and young adults learn about how life insurance can help them.
I grew up in a little town called Ossian, IN and graduated from Norwell High School in 2016. I later graduated with my associate's degree in Accounting and Business Administration from Ivy Tech Community College. At the end of 2025, I will have graduated with my bachelor's in Accounting from DeVry University.
